About Christian Homemaking

The story behind this web site is a simple one. My name is Martha Matthews (my pen name) and I have been a Christian since March of 1991. At the age of 40, I gave up a very lucrative career to become a stay-at-home mom. My husband and I felt this was the right choice for our family. So, with the love and support of my awesome husband, I embarked on this new chapter in my life.

After a few months of being at home I began to search the web for sites that supported women in the role of being a godly wife and homemaker. I found some sites but not one that I felt incorporated all the facets of this role. So, with my Bible, my computer and all the things I had learned over the years, I started the Wives of Excellence Newsletter in June of 2002, which has since become the Christian Homemaking Newsletter. In September of 2002, I created this web site to provide more resources for our readers.

So there you have it. That's my story. No glitz or glamour. Just a woman, like yourself, striving to be the best I can be for God and my family. I hope you'll join me on this journey. It's a road that is best traveled with a friend and the Lord leading the way.
