Chip Off the Old Block

Materials
One piece of scrap wood 4"x4"x6"
One piece of 8" x 10" scrap ply wood for the base
Jig Saw
Clear Polyurethane Spray
White craft glue
1 picture of your husband
1 picture of each child
Photo cropping scissors
Craft paint in a color of your choice
Black, medium tip, indelible pen (Sharpie)
Sand paper
Tack cloth
Instructions
1. Take the 4x4x6 piece of wood and saw off smaller "chips". Make as
many "chips" as you have children. Make each piece large enough to
accommodate a cropped picture of the child. Leave one larger main piece
for Dad's picture. Try to make each piece to look like it was "chipped"
off the larger piece.
2. Crop the pictures to fit on the individual chips.
3. Sand each piece of wood smooth and wipe it with a tack cloth to
remove any sawdust residue.
4. Paint each piece of wood and the platform with craft paint. Let dry
thoroughly.
5. Glue the pictures onto the chips. Let dry thoroughly.
6. Glue Dad's piece on the left of the platform. Glue the children's
pieces on the right side of the platform.
7. Write on the platform the following inscription: "We're Chips off the
Old Block"
8. Spray the entire project with Clear Polyurethane. Allow to dry
thoroughly.
