Burning Candles Safely
by Wendy Kennedy
Candles were used in the past for light, now we use them for comfort,
fragrance and the atmosphere they create. Please use your candles
safely.
DO NOT LEAVE BURNING CANDLES UNATTENDED.
Keep candles out of the reach of children and animals.
Don't close the lid of a burning or warm candle.
Put your candles on heat resistant surfaces.
Don't put candles on or near anything that can catch fire.
Candle containers get very hot - be careful.
Do not burn a container candle below 1/2" from the bottom.
Once all the wax in the bottom of the container is melted your candle is
finished.
Trim candle wicks to 1/8" to prevent smoking.
Don't leave wick trimmings, matches, etc. in the candle.
Don't burn candles near drafts from windows, fans, etc.
Do not put votives directly in wooden candle holders.
Use a glass or metal candle holder.
Avoid really inexpensive candles - they are less likely to be safe.
